120 years of the very first naval wireless communications
On next 14th & 15th July 2017, in QTH La Spezia, will take place a commemoration for the 120 years of the very first naval wireless communications held by Guglielmo Marconi and the former Italian Royal Navy in the Gulf of La Spezia, from 10th to 18th July 1897.
From 10th to 18th July will be on the air the special call IY1SP, operating from the Naval Technical Museum of the Navy, in la Spezia.
A special QSL will be sent to those that will QSO/HRD the special call. A participation certificate (.pdf) will be delivered to whose that will make three (two for DX) or more QSO on different days (one QSO/HRD a day, no matter which band or mode).
On July 15 will be on air three different stations:
- Station at Museo Tecnico Navale : IY1SP/MTN
- Station at Arsenale San Bartolomeo: IY1SP/ ASB
- Station on board a Navy boat : IY1SP/mm
To those that will QSO/HRD all three stations (two for DX) will be delivered a special certificate

The mail object must be “Marconi 120 years” and please send the list of QSOs
Qsl policy : all QSO will be automatically confirmed via buro. For direct QSL please send SAE + 2 green stamps.
